Value Engineering

Scope and Purpose
Value Engineering provisions apply as an incentive to the Contractor to initiate, develop, and present to the Owner for consideration any cost reduction proposals conceived by the Contractor, involving changes in the drawings, designs, specifications, or other requirements of the Contract. The cost reduction proposals contemplated are those that would require a change order modifying the Contract and would produce a savings to the Owner by providing less costly items or methods than those specified in the Contract without impairing essential functions and characteristics such as service life, reliability, economy of operation, ease of maintenance, and necessary standardized features.

Estimating/Value Engineering
Value Engineering (VE) or brainstorming to devise more cost-effective solutions to the same programmatic requirements, is a Marcobay specialty. We will work with Owners and Architects to help select materials and methods which are the most practical, cost effective and attractive.
